“What do you hope to get out of it?”
My hope is big.
My hope is that these images, their subjects, and the memories of their making, do justice to their moment. My hope is that other women don’t feel like they have to stay inside to avoid the dangers of a world that can and should be changed for them, by them. My hope is that I see places my thirteen-year-old self knew she would see, but my twenty-year-old self forgot to dream of. My hope is to give up on a timeline and embrace this experience for how long and as far as it needs to be. My hope is that I grow into myself. My hope is that I find what I need to know and feel, without knowing what that is.
I hope that this is a great big beginning.
